Braving the Snow: First Time Buyers Turn Out in Droves for the 10th London Home Show

Over 4,300 visitors braved the snow on Saturday 3rd of March to attend the tenth London Home Show.

Supported by the Mayor of London, the free exhibition saw 47 exhibitors all under one roof at the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster. Showcasing the best of affordable homes available across London, the Home Show welcomed a range of Shared Ownership and Help to Buy providers, as well as independent mortgage brokers and conveyancing solicitors.

Hosted by Share to Buy, the UK’s largest online portal for Shared Ownership properties, the bi-annual event is held each March and September and has welcomed nearly 45,000 visitors since its launch in 2013.

Jade Turnstill, Digital Marketing & Communications Executive for Share to Buy, comments: “It was great to see so many budding buyers face the cold weather to attend the tenth London Home Show. Despite the snow and subsequent travel disruptions, their dedication to attend the show demonstrates just how committed potential purchasers are to get a foot on the property ladder. The impressive variety of exhibitors ensured that potential first time buyers were able to get their questions answered by a host of industry experts. With the average age of first time buyers at 31 nationwide, Shared Ownership and Help to Buy are becoming increasingly popular alternative routes to home ownership – helping hopeful buyers get onto the property ladder sooner, and often with considerably smaller deposits.

We are delighted that this London Home Show was one of our best attended to date, and we look forward to growing again for the next show in September.sharetobuy_londonhomeshow-1015-low-res.jpg

As well as receiving advice from industry experts, attendees could also register their interest in hundreds of new Shared Ownership and Help to Buy properties that were being showcased at the event. Exhibitors received thousands of leads on the day, highlighting the demand for affordable home ownership properties in the capital. Exhibitors included the biggest names in first time buyer developments across London, including Clarion Housing Group, L&Q, Southern Home Ownership, Notting Hill, Crest Nicholson and Barratt London.

The next London Home Show will take place on Saturday 22nd September 2018. Register on Share to Buy’s website for updates www.sharetobuy.com
