L&Q has launched Brook Houses, the final phase of 4 bedroom Shared Ownership houses at Stadium Place, the site of the historic Walthamstow dog stadium. Last year, the culmination of a painstaking restoration project saw the building’s art-deco facade lit for the first time since its closure eight years ago. Local craftsmen used over 350 pieces of glass to complete the project, working alongside Historic England and architects HTA Design to help L&Q deliver a faithful renovation of the original lights, which were installed in 1951 in time to mark the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II a year later.  Since opening in the 50s, the stadium has played a part in decades of contemporary British culture and history*.
