1,000th Resident Welcomed To Flourishing Milton Keynes Community

Barratt Homes Northampton is celebrating after welcoming its 1,000th residents to the flourishing community at its Brooklands development in Milton Keynes.

Karla Wilson (31) and Jeremy Atkin-Smith (33) have taken their first step onto the property ladder and bought a brand new three bedroom home.

Brooklands was the ideal choice of location to set down roots for the couple ahead of their wedding in August and they are delighted to be joining the growing neighbourhood

The couple said: “It feels amazing to be the 1,000th residents at Brooklands, this home couldn't have come at a better time for us, it’s literally like it was meant to be.

Barratt Homes is a reputable developer and we wanted the best value for our money so knew who we wanted to buy with straight away. Brooklands immediately appealed to us because of the onsite amenities and the style of the properties.

“From the moment we reserved until the day we were handed our keys, Barratt Homes communicated with us on the progress of our build and the customer service cannot be faulted.

“The Sales Advisers were so friendly and made our first purchasing experience very memorable.”

As Karla and Jeremy had been renting since they were 18, they were keen to own their own property and found the semi-detached Morpeth style home well suited to their needs.  Karla Wilson and Jeremy Atkin-Smith outside their new Milton Keynes home with 1,000th resident balloons

They added: “We loved that the front door to our home is centralised to give almost a 'grand' feel to the house. A three bedroom property was what we had our heart set on and we fell in love with the overall layout of the house, especially the kitchen layout with bay.

“There is no way we could have bought the Morpeth without the government’s Help to Buy scheme, so we’re very happy that it has enabled us to buy our ideal home in the area we wanted too.”

Since the Fen Street development launched in 2014, Brooklands has been providing a range of one to five bedroom properties that suit a variety of budgets and lifestyles.

Alison Raine, Sales Director at Barratt Homes Northampton, said: “We are delighted to have welcomed Karla and Jeremy to Brooklands as our 1,000th residents and wish them all the best in their new home.

“It is a real achievement for us all to witness this community flourishing and see how it has grown over the years.”

Brooklands offers a mixture of classic and contemporary homes, close to the hustle and bustle of Milton Keynes but with the peace and quiet of suburban living.

Onsite, residents can benefit from primary and secondary schools, as well as other amenities including a supermarket, dental practice and health centre.
