Leading housebuilder David Wilson Homes has raised more than £30,700 for its chosen charity of the year the Alzheimer’s Society.
The good-willed staff presented the charity with a cheque that totaled £30,704.19 during a recent meeting where they found out more about how their donation will be used.
David Wilson Homes South Midlands, which is based on Riverside Retail Park in Northampton, have been fundraising for the charity for more than a year through its dress down day and various events.
The charity supports those affected by dementia and ensures they are supported and accepted and able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
Lloyd Butcher, Community Fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Society, said: “The staff members at David Wilson Homes South Midlands have gone out of their way to raise an incredible amount for Alzheimer’s Society. From their sky dive right through to volunteering at our local carol concert, I would like to thank them for uniting with us against dementia.
“There are more than 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK and it was fantastic to work in partnership with David Wilson Homes to raise vital funds and awareness for people affected by dementia. “
John Dillon, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We are delighted to announce that we have managed to raise more than £30,000 for our charity partner the Alzheimer’s Society.
“This is a fantastic charity that works extremely hard to support those affected by dementia, something which is all too familiar for a number of families living in Northamptonshire.
“As a local housebuilder we want to give back to the local community and support local charities wherever we can and we look forward to raising more funds for the worthy cause.”
