New Silentnight pillows prevent plastic waste

Silentnight has just launched the Eco Comfort Pillow - created with plastic bottles.

The unique new pillow is filled with high performance Eco Comfort Fibres™, which are made from 100% recycled materials.

Providing top quality in comfort, these responsive fibres quickly spring back to their original shape to ensure long lasting support and are encased in 100% polyester breathable fabric, for improved air circulation and a refreshing night’s sleep.

The pillows have been developed to complement Silentnight’s award-winning* range of eco-friendly sustainable mattresses, which have so far prevented over 100million plastic bottles entering the sea.

Angela Moran of Silentnight comments: “Our consumer research has shown that shoppers place environmental concerns high on their list of priorities, so we’re delighted to add to the successful Eco Comfort New Silentnight pillows mattress range with these pillows.”

According to Greenpeace, an estimated 12.7 million tonnes of plastic - everything from plastic bottles and bags to microbeads - end up in our oceans each year. Big pieces of plastic are choking and entangling turtles and seabirds and tiny pieces are clogging the stomachs of creatures who mistake it for food, from tiny zooplankton to whales. Plastic is now entering every level of the ocean food chain and even ending up in the seafood on our plates.

Angela concludes: “We’ve used our leading UK-based technology to create these pillows so that they make a real contribution to help, without compromising on comfort. The user can hopefully sleep soundly in more ways than one thanks to our Eco Comfort Pillow.”

It's now on Amazon from just £27.99
